At some point, we all (ADHD or not) need some assistance to achieve our goals.  Whether it’s a career choice or a desire to tweak some annoying habits, a coach can guide you through changes with support, accountability, and an idea or two.  If you could do it on your own, it would have happened by now.

I call you. We get acquainted. You talk about what you want out of life – your dreams, aspirations, situations you wish to avoid, whatever is important to you right now.  I listen.

Then, together we work out ways to resolve the issue that may be troubling you or being a barrier to your goals.

At this point I ask if you would like to sign up for one of the special packages described below.  If you say yes, we find a package that’s right for you and tailored to your individual needs.  If you say no, then that’s the end of it – no annoying emails, no texts, nothing.  But you’re always welcome to change your mind and come back…

A “virtual” coach is  like any other life coach, except that we do not meet in an office.  Every session can be done by phone or online, including Facetime, Google Duo, whatever works for you.

There are several advantages to this method, especially in this time of Covid-19.  We can have a conversation anywhere there’s a phone, so if you’re still in your pajamas or visiting Aunt Pootie in Iowa we can carry on regardless of any obstacles.

We speak by phone at a mutually convenient time.  In the first session (not the consultation) you talk to me about your life now and what you would like to be different.  We discuss your motivation to change, the amount of time it might take to achieve these alterations, and methods by which you might alter your behavior.

If you have already determined your goals, we discuss those and any steps you may have taken and breakthroughs you may have had. I hold you accountable for the steps you are taking to achieve the desired outcome.  We celebrate your successes, and tweak the plan if needed.  Then you continue on your path to achievement.

Don’t you just hate it when you read some website and they go on and on about how great a product or service is and then they never get to the price? I do.  So here’s what I offer and here’s what it costs:

First session (consult) – Free!

Individual sessions (60 minutes) – $100

6 – session package  $500

Each package is tailored to your needs, but some examples might include:

Living with Adult ADHD – Being an adult with ADHD takes special skills and adaptations. Let me help you use your “special” attributes to your advantage.  I’ve learned this through experience.

Productivity – Becoming more productive in your daily life.  Organizing your time in a way that helps you accomplish more AND have more time for yourself.

Introducing New Habits – Breaking unproductive habits and replacing them with beneficial ones.

I have ADHD.

I have a Virtual Coaching Certificate.

In addition, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychobiology from UCLA which included classes in brain development, research, sociology, and psychology.

I also possess an Emergency Teaching Credential in Elementary Studies.

I spent 10 years as Social Services case manager, helping individuals and families find ways toward self-sufficiency.  This included budgeting, employment search, and counseling in making better life choices, as well as referrals to appropriate resources.

My experience includes over 50 years of dealing with people in a supportive caring way; being available an advisor or listener is needed.

My latest endeavor has been case management at our local homeless shelter, which is more hands on but uses the same basic skills.  I have found that meeting people where they are and building on their strengths has been successful and rewarding.  I get gratification from watching people grow.

No. I am not a doctor.

A Psychiatrist is a Medical Doctor with specialized education and training.  They can offer psychoanalytical treatment and prescribe medication if it is appropriate.  A psychiatrist would be the one to officially diagnose ADHD.

A Therapist is trained to offer psychological counseling.  Depending on their specialty, they can provide advice on all aspects of your personal life.  A few specialize in issues relating to ADHD.

A Coach deals with specific behaviors as they are affected by ADHD.  They work with the client to construct habits and practices that will ease stressors created by ADHD.
